Buckwheaties

I made my first batch of these this past summer & let them dry outside. I got a dehydrator for Christmas from my lovely mother so now I can make them in the winter too! They are mild-tasting so putting them with a banana is perfect. THIS article tells the health benefits (& shows a picture). Also, this is a great option to make raw granola with, or put in homemade energy bars, or whatever else you like to have 'crunch' in your diet. To pump up the nutrition, HERE is how to sprout them (this shows how to do it for wheatberries, but it's the same process), though I haven't done this yet...

VOC's & natural stains...

I'm painting some things & started looking into some natural paints/stains, etc...to see how they compare price-wise. Because my projects are small, I'm going to use them & I'm excited!! Particularly about Milk Paint (derived from milk proteins...a good use for them since they're not good for our tummies :) found HERE AND you don't have to sand or prime beforehand, which is why I wanted to use it in the first place. HERE is a site for more natural stains & the like...hopefully they're good ones because I'm going to buy one. Also HERE is an article about how to reduce VOC's in our homes (you know, without freaking out & going overboard about it).
